Tim is a patent agent in the Cincinnati office. He is a registered patent agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and focuses his practice on patent prosecution in the mechanical and software arts, including oil field technologies, alternative energy, medical devices, simulation software, machine learning applications and enterprise software. Tim primarily concentrates on patent prosecution, but also provides assistance with preparation of patentability, invalidity and freedom-to-operate opinions and gives technical support to patent litigation and inter partes reviews.
In the energy sector, Tim has experience with drilling, stimulation, completion, remediation technologies, downhole imaging and monitoring equipment, exploration and forecasting applications. He also has experience with various technologies in the mechanical arts, such as robotic surgical tools, aerospace vehicles and simulations, end mills, fenestration systems and alternative energy systems.
Prior to becoming a patent agent, Tim worked as a graduate research assistant developing and testing 3-D Discrete Boltzmann simulation software for use in alternative energy system designs and oil and gas exploration.
Tim received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Rice University and his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Louisville.
